德克薩斯大學(xué)MD安德森癌癥研究中心,炎癥和癌癥研究中心的主任,及德克薩斯大學(xué)MD安德森癌癥研究中心免疫學(xué)系教授(終身)。近20年來主要研究固有免疫和獲得性免疫的調(diào)節(jié)、細胞膜分子信號轉(zhuǎn)導(dǎo)及基因表達的調(diào)控機制,重點探討正常免疫應(yīng)答以及免疫調(diào)節(jié)異常導(dǎo)致的免疫缺陷、自身免疫性疾病和過敏反應(yīng)的分子調(diào)控機制。其領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的團隊在發(fā)現(xiàn)重要免疫耐受調(diào)節(jié)分子方面做出了重要貢獻,特別是在Th17細胞的分化、調(diào)節(jié)和功能研究方面進行了大量開創(chuàng)性的工作, 是該領(lǐng)域的研究權(quán)威之一。其發(fā)現(xiàn)對人們理解炎癥、自身免疫性疾病和過敏性疾病的發(fā)病機制,以及探索有效的治療方法提供了很大的幫助。已在國際一流學(xué)術(shù)期刊發(fā)表論文及專著120余篇,共獲得10多項資助,其中NIH資助6項,目前在研10項。2009年被美國免疫學(xué)學(xué)會授予取得杰出成就的青年免疫學(xué)家獎。目前受聘為同濟大學(xué)講座教授,博士生導(dǎo)師,同濟大學(xué)附屬東方醫(yī)院炎癥與腫瘤轉(zhuǎn)化醫(yī)學(xué)研究所所長。
